NuKey is a locksmith company in Huntington Beach, CA. The owner has been re-keying locks for over 10 years, starting with his dad in the Inland Empire in 1995. NuKey was established March of 2013 because we want to offer the simple alternative of re-keying locks rather than the expensive alternative of changing hardware in the residential and small commercial markets. NuKey offers a hassle-free and affordable solution to changing locks for home owners, real estate agents and property managers in the LA and Orange counties. In 1995, Jarom Moore’s dad took him to work in the Inland Empire and showed him the ropes of a locksmith. His dad was an experienced locksmith and worked with property preservation and management companies. Jarom remembers, “my dad was the guy that got called to work on the hardest locks that no one else could figure out.” Jarom learned how to pick locks of all difficulties, rekey cylinders, cut keys and make copies, repair locks, climb through windows, and many other trade skills necessary to be competitive in the locksmith industry.
Jarom finished high school and traveled in Spain for two years, came back to the US to continue his education at Brigham Young University and earned a BA in Spanish and Business Management. He did some work for a property management company in Provo and after his wife earned her degree they moved back to California to pursue their careers.
Jarom says, “Since my dad had been in the locksmith business for several years, he had some good contacts and so I was fortunate to land a management position at a property preservation company where I dispatched over twenty locksmiths/contractors out to their daily jobs. This is where I learned that the office environment was a great place to learn some organizational skills but was not where I wanted to stay. I gained more office knowledge than I deserved over the years and I also gained more experience as a locksmith doing jobs for my dad. At the beginning of 2013 I managed my dad’s company while he was traveling. I kept thinking, ‘I can do this in Orange County and LA County!’ My dad agreed and gave me his blessing to start NuKey Locksmith and he has been a great support all along the way.”
Jarom is passionate about his work as a locksmith.
